I made this recipe specifically to pair with my smoked pork chops recipe but this recipe is so good and versatile if can be used with a variety of recipes. You only need a handful of ingredients for this BBQ sauce and most you should hopefully have in the house.
This apple barbecue sauce recipe only calls for some ketchup, apple sauce, apple cider vinegar and brown sugar. After gathering your ingredients and measuring them out, add them to a small pot and whisk them together well. You are going to start to simmer the ingredients over a low heat, stirring on occasion.
After about 20 minutes of simmering and stirring you can remove from the heat. At this point, you can briefly allow it to cool down and then serve. If you are making this in advance you can store in an air tight container, in the refrigerator, for about one week.
