A Simple Steak Recipe

For this recipe, one of your best options is a sirloin steak, this is a traditional steak option when it comes to making any kind of kabob recipe. I used the same cut of meat with this steak and shrimp kabob recipe. It is a flavorful and tender cut of beef that holds up well when sliced or cubed and over high heat for these quick grills.

This recipe calls for about 1.5 lbs. of sirloin. For the steak, you are going to want to slice them into strips about 1″ wide. Besides slicing there is nothing else we need to do until the marinade is ready. Put them off the the side and move onto the marinade.

Steak On A Stick Marinade

This marinade is pretty basic, you should have everything you need but it makes for incredible bursting flavor. Here is the list of items needed for the marinade recipe:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/8 cup Worcester sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Measure each of these ingredients out, combine in a bowl and then stir until fully blended. When done mixing the marinade, you are going to take it, add it to a resealable bag and then add in the sirloin slices. Seal the bag and place in the regfrigator. You are going to marinade the streak for about 5 hours. Longer is fine but 5 hours will get you plenty of flavor.

After marinading remove from the bag and pat dry. Once you patted these dry, go ahead and thread onto a skewer. I used bamboo, if using bamboo make sure to soak for a little bit so they don’t burn up.

Grilling Tender Steak On A Stick

This will be a super quick grill so don’t go far or expect to get much done while these are on the grill. Crank up your grill to 400°, we are going to grill this over direct heat. Once you are up to temp, grab a paper towel, pour some vegetable oil onto it and using tongs, rub down the grates.

When that is done put the beef skewers on the grill and grill for 3 minutes on each side. You can do this with the lid open or closed but either way its such a quick cook, its not moving the needle either way a whole lot. After the 6 minutes, you can pull these off, give the stick enough time to cool so they can be held and serve this delicious tender steak on a stick!

Tender steak on a stick is a delicious option, for the grill, that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults at any event. Its convenient and hand held method to enjoy makes it perfect for parties, barbecues, or even just a fun family dinner. With endless possibilities for seasoning and marinades, this tasty treat is sure to be a crowd-pleaser every time.
